Manish Mehta, MD, The Vascular Group, PLLC, Albany, Elected To Distinguished Fellows Status, Society For Vascular Surgery
CHICAGO (June 18, 2008) —
Dr. Manish Mehta was elected to distinguished fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) at the 62nd Vascular Annual Meeting on June 5, 2008. He is an assistant professor of surgery at The Vascular Group, PLLC in Albany, N.Y. Dr. Mehta’s election was based upon his scholarly research activities, creative professional activities and broadly recognized teaching excellence.
“We are proud to include Dr. Mehta as a distinguished fellow in the Society for Vascular Surgery,” said G. Patrick Clagett, MD, SVS president. “He exemplifies the qualities and commitment to excellence our membership subscribes to in vascular health care.”
Dr. Mehta has been involved in over 40 phase I and II clinical and basic science trials and has served as the site principal investigator in 33 of these trials. He has published over 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mehta also is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Endovascular Therapy and Endovascular Today, as well as is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. He has presented at numerous regional and national meetings on the endovascular treatment for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms and thoracic endografts.
In addition to his dedication to the SVS, Dr. Mehta is involved with the American College of Surgeons, Eastern Vascular Society, Medical Society of the State of New York, New England Society for Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the Society for Interventional Radiology.
